1999- Avi Pacharkar
Avi was born in 1980 in Dimona. He was an enthusiastic athlete at school. In 1998, Avi was drafted and although he wanted to serve in the Border Patrol, he was chosen to be a driver for heavy mechanical tools. Avi’s driving license included a military license to operate a crane, permission to drive a heavy load vehicle, and permission to drive hazardous materials around. After serving seven months on the Gaza Strip, Avi moved to another unit, to perform a mission. Avi never returned from the mission. He was killed in December of 1999 when he was only 19 years old.
