1948- Roman Litman
Roman was born in Poland in 1929. He studied in high school until the invasion of the Germans. Roman and his father, a military officer in the Polish Army, crossed into Russia, where they were taken by the Russians. Upon their release, they moved to Israel through Tehran. Roman’s father stayed in the Polish Army, abandoned his religion and cut off ties with his family. Roman and his mother lived in Tel Aviv, where Roman worked hard in order to support the family. A month before the establishment of the State of Israel, Roman was drafted into the Air Force where he served as an airport guard. Roman was injured during the first bombing of the airport on May 15, 1948, and he died on the way to the hospital.
