Second Lieutenant Hadar Goldin
2nd.-Lt. Hadar Goldin was an officer in the Givati Brigade. He was killed during a firefight in Southern Gaza on August 1 at a time that was supposed to be a ceasefire. Hadar had been listed as missing in action and feared kidnapped since Friday, but later Brig.-Gen. Rabbi Rafi Peretz, IDF chief rabbi, ruled that Goldin had been killed in action. “Hadar," his father said, "always wanted to bring tikkun (repair) to the world. He was a great young man, just like all the other ones we [Israel] have buried recently." Goldin was from Kfar Saba. He was 23 years old.
