sergeant major yaron amati
Yaron worked as a senior insurance agent with the Shekel insurance company. His boss, Guy Olami, said that Yaron had a well-developed sense of humor, and would turn every routine report into a hilarious story. “He was a man with no faults, modest, and with a very high work ethic.”
Yaron had volunteered for reserve duty for many years, and served as the Battalion’s medic. When the war broke out, he requested immediate mobilization. His best friend, Nir, said that Yaron was very ideological, and this was why he volunteered time after time.
A father of three, Yaron was killed on August 13, 2006 by anti-tank missiles fired at troops in Southern Lebanon. He was 44 years old.
