Sergeant Major tamir glazer
Tamir’s mom, Sharona, and sister, Vicki, decorate Tamir’s grave at the military cemetery in Holon in different ways: one time like a fairy forest, one time like the beach. Sharona: “We build a display so that people will come. I want people to come and know that there was a Tamir. I am very connected to this place.”
“Tamir was a quiet and curious person. He built strong relationships with friends, not many, and loved to give. We had a very strong connection and he shared almost everything with me. I miss talking to him very much, sitting with him at a simple meal. Tamir was a homebody and he was very close to his sister and brother, Dvir and Ori.”
“I knew that he was going up on that helicopter, he called me right before the flight. When the screen came up on the television to announce the tragedy, I knew that he was gone. At first they told me he was missing, but I insisted that they keep on searching. I knew that he was there among the fallen. I wanted to see him and they wouldn’t let me. It hurt me a lot. I need to know everything about him. I raised him in my womb and he is my son and I need to know everything, the good and the bad.”
