Lieutenant Colonel Dolev Keidar
Lieutenant-Colonel Dolev Keidar was the commander of the Geffen Battalion. He was killed by an antitank missile when responding to terrorists infiltrating Israel Monday, July 21. Keidar's brother-in-law told Haaretz: "... What made Dolev stand out was that everything he did, he invested in and committed 100 percent. He was...very pleasant...but also knew how to be a commander when needed. He gave his maximum in every task and treated his soldiers like a father treats his children." After his death, Israeli TV played clips from a 2009 documentary created by wife called "Waiting For Him", a film about the life of a military man serving in combat in his middle age. Keidar lived in Modiin with his wife and three children. He was 38 years old.
