Sergeant First Class Guy Hasson
Guy was one of the first children born on Moshav Na’ama. After his IDF service in the Nahal Brigade, Guy worked as a security guard at the Jordan Valley border crossing near Beit She’an, but soon after decided to return to the community and continue living there. At the same time, he opened a café with his girlfriend Libi. The café was called Guy-li, bearing both of their names, and became a popular hang-out for the many young people of the Jordan Valley communities.
Guy also volunteered with the search and rescue team for the Megillot-Dead Sea region of the Jordan Valley, and helped identify and rescue tourists who had lost their way in the Judean Desert. Friends described Guy as “a strong and industrious person, who contributed
enthusiastically to his parents’ farm.”
Guy was one of nine IDF soldiers killed on August 13, 2006 in fighting with Hizbullah terrorists in
southern Lebanon. He was 24 years old.
