Sergeant Major aviv golan
Leah, Aviv’s mother: “There are a lot of things that we discovered about Aviv from stories that we heard after the tragedy. We didn’t know that he was such a fighter, we didn’t know how brave and daring he was, how much he cared for his friends and how much the army trusted him. As a boy he was very humble and quiet. He had a big heart, the size of the world, devotion, professionalism, and a great love for his girlfriend, Aya, with whom he planned to continue his life.”
Yosef, his father: “He was the oldest, diligent son that helped us a lot with our property at Beit Yosef. His brother, Yinon, and his sisters, Odelia and Tehila loved and admired him and his death was harder for them than anything. Each one of them dealt with it differently. I looked for answers and found them in the Torah, Talmud, Gemara and Commentary. Since the tragedy I learned and became ordained as a rabbi and now I am the rabbi of the Moshav. I think faith helped me deal with the grief.”
