sergeant alexander bonimovich
Alexander, known as Sasha, immigrated to Israel from Belarus at the age of two and half. Raised and educated in Netanya, he had a keen sense of humor and a unique smile - a bit sneaky and crooked. He was direct, sensible and maintained a strong sense of justice. Sasha, never one to make an issue out of something, was logical yet warm in everything he did and said, and known for his independent thinking that allowed him to defend his views and express them frankly and boldly, clearly and sharply. This independence also extended to financial independence so Sasha, together with some close friends, started working at the age of 13.
Sasha was killed in Southern Lebanon on August 12, 2006, one of the bloodiest days of the war. He was 19 years old.
