While still in high school, even before he had turned 16, Danny wanted a motorbike and set out to convince his father who soon realized that his son was extremely determined. On condition that it not be ridden until he had a licence, Danny received his bike. Once he obtained his licence, he would take his mother on rides through the scenic areas around their home in Achituv (Central Israel) and thus managed to also switch her from a bike a dissenter to an approver. Described by a neighbor as "always laughing and hugging" and as someone who "loved to help people,” Danny volunteered to join fellow paratroopers in Lebanon during the operation despite his family’s objections. He was one of twelve reservists killed on August 6, 2006 in Kfar Giladi by a Hezbollah-fired katyusha rocket. He was 38 years old.
