Sergeant Gregory Aharonov
A native of Kiev Ukraine, Gregory made Aliyah at age 18 and joined the IDF where he was a member of the navy. While still undergoing basic training, he arranged for his "soon-to-be wife" to travel to Israel. He was a dependable and responsible man who displayed good judgement. Gregory worked hard at his career following his release from the IDF and was rewarded for his reliability and relatively swift promotions. Gregory was one of twelve reservists killed in Kfar Giladi by a katyusha rocket launched by Hezbollah on August 6, 2006. He was 34 years old and left behind a wife and two children.
