1994- Shlomi Shofen
Shlomi was born in 1974 in Rehovot. He was a sensitive, introverted, young man who loved writing songs and poetry. In July of 1992, he was drafted into the IDF. After passing different courses, he was sent to a signal unit in Judea and Samaria as a unit driver. Later, he became the commander’s driver. Shlomi had a very good relationship with his commander- the unit commander. His commander said, “While we were together, he always came on time, with a smile. He always wanted to know everything and was interested in every special activity we were going to. He never forgot about his friends in the unit and he always found time for me, and his friends. In 1994, when he was just 19 years old, Shlomi died. He is survived by his parents and his three sisters.
