Sergeant Major Roee Yaish
Roee was a fine young man who conquered everyone with his smile. He exuded a joy for life, and left a trail of delight everywhere he went. At parties he would sing, dance and have a great time. But there was another side to Roee. Serious and sensitive. He had a gift for writing and would compose magnificent, heart-felt songs, poems and stories. He was a man of love who loved his family and his friends. “His ability to give, endlessly, to any person, in any place, was his essence,” said his family.
Roee was one of twelve reservists killed on August 6, 2006 in Kfar Giladi by a Hezbollah-fired katyusha rocket. He was 27 years old.
