Major avishai levi
Yehudit, Avishai’s mother, tells [that]: Buying a gift for Avishai was the easiest task in the world- a kite, a plane you had to put together, and anything that had anything technical about it. Avishai kept a childlike spirit as an adult as well and for him to go into a toy store was a big deal. He built panes from a young age, loved reading the Air Force’s journal and dreamed to serve in the military as a pilot. He played a lot of basketball and very much liked to go crazy with kids, and especially his daughter, Amit. Every time he would come back to his house, he would run to her and not take her out of his hands.”
Chagit, his sister: “We grew up very close and we would spend hours together. Dad passed away when we were young and Avishai decided that he would finish his studies as an honor student for Dad. They always called him ‘good heart’ because that’s how he was; full of good heartedness and very fatherly.”
Inbal, his wife: “Avishai and I studied together in middle school. From the age of fifteen and until his death, we were inseparable. In 12 years together, we matured together, moved into our own place together, got married, moved to the Tel Nof base, returned to our Tel Aviv apartment, had a sweet daughter, Amit. Amit was only given one year with her Dad. In that year, it was as if he knew that he had to be as much of a dad as he could with hugs and spending time together.”
